Holiday Season: Terror

Ah yes, the holiday season. The time for being jolly and.. Eggnog! Then on the other hand there is the slew of games that all are released in the same two months. You'd think that the publishers would have some mercy to at least make the consumer think they're not spending their complete life savings in a short period of time. This could be achieved by spreading out the releases, but instead they are all clumped up, big and intimidatey-like.

With titles like Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops coming out, who can ever choose what games to get? And who can ever determine which tiny titles are overshadowed by these towering giants? Well, honestly. No one really. Unless you have a rare collection of fossilized mosquitoes in your basement worth $100,000 it's given you probably won't be buying every game this holiday. Are you really going to notice titles like Big Joe Goes to Washington and Super Ninja Master Fighter Deluxe when Halo comes out that same day?

How could we solve this problem... Hmmm.. Spreading out the release dates! This summer Xbox 360 gamers had... Crackdown Crapdown 2. If an AAA title had come out and had a great multiplayer, I am sure that gamers of all ages would've kept it at the top of the Xbox Live charts! Release some games in the summer you blood thirsty publishers! Releasing a game four months earlier isn't going to change my opinion on buying a game. Not only this, but in the economy spending $300 on games alone in three months doesn't sound too appealing. Of course you could take this approach and be the fat uncle at Christmas dinner who didn't buy the presents for the children, but insist they were stolen from your car!

I'm going to say that I'll try to provide gaming reviews about smaller titles and the more popular titles. Old games, new games. Walkthroughs and guides. I'll also be posting some random deals. The first set of reviews will be the Halo games, just in time for the last game (Halo: Reach releases on September 14th, 2010) of the critically acclaimed series.

This being my first post I'm asking everyone who reads this to voice their opinions in the comment section to post what you'd like to see, if you like the writing format I'm using (I'm still trying to get used to this!), and any other suggestions. Thanks!
