Black Cops

Call of Duty: Black Ops is setting records... What a surprise! (Don't get me wrong, I like the game, it's just a given that COD will sell the most ever)

Black Ops has made over $650 million dollars in the US and UK in the past several days that it has been out. The game was hyped to raise the bar on all shooters (it is trying..) and the game's multiplayer has always been renowned to be the best.

The game has just been given an update which is supposed to fix the matchmaking system which repeatedly kicks party members, it is supposed to tune small audio things and a few other things that aren't that important.

After this game selling a million-billion copies, I wouldn't be surprised if they started putting out statistics like, the distance of people jumping up and down is 29 times the distance to the moon.

Keep on playing folks! (hoorah?)

Engulfed or Enflamed

Well for the past couple days I've been pretty focused on the new Call of Duty. So far the game has lived up to my high expectations.. I just think it is getting so complex. There are challenges inside of challenges on a plane.

But now that I look upon this post for the second day (I wrote it yesterday). The game is epic. It grabs you and doesn't let go. There are 15 prestige levels which amounts to many years of replay time. The guns seem well balanced with each having it's own perks and downsides. The textures on the guns are kinda iffy, they either look really good or like little plastic replicas. The new perk system is very well balanced (no stopping power or juggernaut), and all together I have to say Treyarch did a good job. I have barely touched the multiplayer and I have only played an hour of singleplayer/zombies. This is just part 1, stay tuned for the rest!

Call of Duty: Black Cops

Well folks! The seventh installation of Call of duty comes out tonight at 12:00. This game looks to give Infinity Ward (all 7 people) a run for their money. Now this is quite scary for me since I've never formally written a review for a game.. But yes! I'm writing a review for Call of duty!

I've always been a fan of the series and this one looks better than ever. I'll see if it lives up to the hype. But now it is time for sleepy sleepy! See you all on the battlefield tomorrow!

Stealing the Sale: Sale of the Week

Grand theft Auto! GTA 1, 2, 3, Vice City and San Andreas are all on sale this week as a package on Steam. These games have drummed up so much controversy, whether it be getting a hooker to heal you by doing the nasty-nasty, then shooting her and taking your money... Or just stealing a car and running civilians over for fun. This game is the curse of all mothers of 11 year old children and it has been for years.

The whole package is just $7.49. 5 games for $7.49? That's almost 1 dollar for each game. Go forth and taste Theft, and grander and automatics! Here

New Free-to-play Battlefield game announced.. Play4Free!

Battlefield: Play4Free (such a creative name...) was announced this morning. This game will be developed by Easy games (the people who made Battlefield: Heroes). This free to play Battlefield game will use BF2 maps and supposedly play like it.. it's also not cartoony!

This game will have an experience system where players earn, then spend on a "massive arsenal" of weapons. Weapons can also be bought with real money (free-to-play games, I resent you!!).

All in all, a free to play Battlefield game that draws influences from Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 2 sounds promising. We shall see.

The game is due for release spring 2011, and if you can't wait that long there is a closed beta.. Head over to the website to sign up! http://battlefield.play4free.com/

BioShock: Indefinitely Infinite

Ah, yes. Bioshock. The name that combines life with shock, the kind of shock that puts shivers down your spine! These games are great, and they are about to get greater. Follow through my recap of the previous Bioshocks and discover... Columbia! (Wait... Didn't we already find that place?)

Calm Battles Are Battley Battles

Yes folks! As you can see by the title, a new Battlefield game is going to be announced this Friday. The developers Easy, who made Battlefield Heroes, the free-to-play Battlefield cartoon game, are in charge of this new one. Luckily it isn't Battlefield 3 (which I have high hopes for) and it isn't Battlefield Assault, which is a new name EA recently picked up. What game is it? We shall see.. Friday. Que Battlefield music! Doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo!

Comic Jumper Free Soundy Track

If you haven't heard, which I presume you haven't.. Twisted Pixel makers of the awesome 'Splosion Man and the new Comic Jumper games (available on XBLA) are good developers. They give us free stuff, we love free stuff. Along with the new game, Comic Jumper, they've released the soundtrack for the game along with various sound clips from the game (have fun with those!). To grab the musicly stuff go to the website.. Located here: http://www.twistedpixelgames.com/games.htm

You can listen to the tunes of the game while you're playing the tunes of the game on the game while playing the tunes.

I would also suggest getting the games. 'Splosion Man is so 'splosiony! And Comic Jumper I've yet to try, but I've heard good things. Go forth and taste the magic.

Xbox.com receiving major update

Xbox.com is turning fifte.... Oh wait wrong post.

Xbox.com the infamously slow website to the infamously infamous console is receiving a major update tomorrow. The new features include a web based avatar builder where you can view all the latest and greatest pixel clothes. It's almost as if your web browser was turned into a Hot Topic. No. Way.

Anyway, this update also brings lots of small features, such as the ability to spy on your children (new parental controls), a new and improved marketplace search on the 'site (the old one worked..?), a new view to the whole shabang, and. Wait for it... Wait for it...

WEB GAMES!

I just really hope they fix the speed. Have you ever tried loading three hundred deviates at once? Yes it is the equivalent.

And tomorrow at 5 EST the website will be down, so don't panic if it doesn't show up.

Movie Thoughts

Late night posting is the best! BBC is showing K19: The Widowmaker, which is a movie based in the Cold War era about a soviet submarine.

The movie stars Harrison ford as the Captain of the sub, and Liam Neeson as the first mate.

First off let me say it's quite a good movie. I generally hate naval movies, but this one is gripping. Whether it be mutiny or a pet mouse dying and then the owner going crazy.

It's weird hearing Harrison Ford in a Russian accent.. At some points of immense drama you can just hear the American accent spewing off of his lips.

The movie is quite riveting. The Russians have a reactor core failure which almost causes a meltdown... BOOM! This causes power overthrowing-ing, and a massive dose of radiation and heroism! You can almost taste the tension between the KGB and Americans; especially when the Russians need assistance from the Americans.. Silly stubborn Russians!

I've been enjoying it all (except the commercials..) and I suggest you should watch it now.

Wut Do We Do Now

Gaming deals time!

That's Unreal... Man!

Unreal Engine 3, mmm you can almost taste exploding flesh when you hear that name. Well tasting flesh isn't my forte, but games like Gears of War 1 and 2, and Unreal Tournament are built on the Unreal Engine 3. But there are also about 10,000 other games built on it too. Why have I brought this topic up? Good question! Because if there are any of you out there that want to get into game design but don't know how, the answer is... UDK (Unreal Development Kit!)! This is the free Unreal 3 engine at your disposal. The tools the pro's use! They are quite confusing though so beware.

The good news is if you get a hang of it and if you do make a game you can make up to $5000 in cash! (After that you have to start paying 20% to Epic Games..). But that's a hefty chunk of chang-a-langs isn't it? Anyway, link, UDK, I suggest tutorials for not as much frustration.. Just check them out on Google. If anybody makes any maps or anything feel free to post them in the comments and I'll check them out.

5SD, 4FSD, 3DS?

As everyone knows the new Nintendo 3DS is being released soon! Well, it's been pushed back a bit to 2011 for us AMERICAN folk. But 3D gaming without glasses is worth it right? Wait.. It costs $300? Couldn't you buy a playstation with that money?

I imagine the new technology for seeing something in 3D without glasses on will push the industry. But what I'm worried about is, isn't 3D just a fad? I remember it in the late 90's with those special blue and red glasses. What happened to 3D media then? It died in a massive explosion of lame proportions.

(I'm sorry for the posts without much formatting, just blame Apple. I'll be back on my computer soon!)

Innappropriateness

This is quite odd.. But who doesn't love a good ol' bunch of imaginary titles?
http://bit.ly/dlu7i8

Quite good imaginary titles! But I prefer such classics as, Billy James the Imaginary Armadillo, or, Animal Crossing: Rambo Town. Ah yes, the good old days of video games.

Oh silly G4.

Remember... Wait what am I remembering?

Halo: Reach is launching tonight and in honor of the most popular series on the Xbox (maybe the most popular trilogy ever?), I've decided to make a blog post to it! You're welcome, Halo.

I will be posting a review of it this weekend after I get my hands on it, I will also be reviewing the franchise in general and the transitions between the games. I'll also explore where the immensely popular series can go next!

Happy Monday everyone!

Not-So Legendary Unboxing

I honestly just wait for the game itself to show up in my hands... But I know everybody enjoys seeing it! So here's the unboxing of the Legendary Edition of Halo: Reach. Later this (next) week I'll be posting a review of Reach and its predecessors. Video after the break.

Immortal Truce: Mortal Kombat

Well, according to Amazon.com we won't be seeing this game until December 31st, 2020 but you can still watch the gameplay video from PAX 2010 to get pumped to get it for your children or grandchildren!

Mortal Kombat is set to be launched in 2011 and has gone back to its oh-so-blood-and-gorgeous-gore roots. No more cartoon crap! The game is in 3D and the trailer below is demonstrating the new tag team mode, just like Marvel Vs. Capcom. Yes, unoriginality in a good way! Video after the break.

I Saw You

I know this post is a bit random, but I had to include it. What doesn't this weapon tool have? I'm fairly sure it has a built-in periscope on the top, and I do believe there is a refrigerator on it.

It's the new Bosch Axial Glide Mitter Saw! This will only put you back $700, so everyone go buy one! I think there is a 12 pack of Coors inside the armchair fridge on the left side of it!

Apples and Oranges!

Well Apple has decided to manufacture a string of new iPods! Whether you have the Nano, Shuffle or the Touch... You're shit out of luck, because the new models are of much higher quality. Just like everything else in this electronic age, your devices go out of date within a year and are then updated to be better, stronger, faster and more awesome! (Sometimes.)

Holiday Season: Terror

Ah yes, the holiday season. The time for being jolly and.. Eggnog! Then on the other hand there is the slew of games that all are released in the same two months. You'd think that the publishers would have some mercy to at least make the consumer think they're not spending their complete life savings in a short period of time. This could be achieved by spreading out the releases, but instead they are all clumped up, big and intimidatey-like.

Welcome!

Welcome! This blog is all about media. Whether it is books, movie discussions, video game reviews, technology reviews and help, or just music news. I'll be posting news, events, and everything you need to know! You'll get it all here.

Now to introduce the blogger! I'm Theo. That's enough for now, isn't it?

I hope everyone enjoys reading and don't forget to comment (I've made it so that readers can comment anonymously with no sign-up) and subscribe... Or I'll find you.
